Reflexology for Babies
A baby’s crying may be caused by colic or other issues that we can alleviate through reflexology. At the start of the treatment I ask the parents for background information so I can plan the treatment as well as possible. Most often the treatment is a combination of baby massage and reflexology. Most babies respond to the treatment by visibly relaxing and enjoying themselves. Sleep quality usually improves immediately. I instruct parents in massage techniques they can perform at home. Every baby benefits from the treatment, since in addition to releasing tension and easing discomfort, it also promotes body awareness and supports motor development.
I qualified as a reflexologist in 2002. At my practice I have had the privilege of helping numerous babies. In addition, in my personal life as a mother of 3 children and godmother to 5 children, I have gained invaluable experience in baby reflexology.
New Finnish research confirms the benefits of reflexology for babies. The study was published in KaksPlus magazine on 18 October 2019.
